Basic Concepts of AI

Overview

As we begin to use artificial intelligence, it’s important to recognize that there are many new concepts we need to understand. For example, in the fields of learning, technology, and artificial intelligence, the terms question and prompt are commonly used. Although they are sometimes used interchangeably, they have different meanings and purposes.

A question is a linguistic expression used to obtain information, clarify a doubt, or provoke reflection. It is formulated with the intention of receiving a direct and specific answer.

For example:

  • What is artificial intelligence?
  • How many people live in Canada?

Questions usually have a clear interrogative structure and are aimed at obtaining data, explanations, or opinions.

Prompts can be more open-ended or creative, and their effectiveness depends on how well they are formulated
