Exercise
Avoid Stereotypes in Image Generation
Overview
Use Inclusive Prompts
Describe people with neutral or diverse terms (e.g., “a group of professionals” instead of “businessmen”) to avoid reinforcing gender or cultural biases.
Specify Diversity Intentionally
If your image includes people, explicitly request variation in ethnicity, age, gender, and ability to reflect real-world diversity.
Avoid Cultural Shortcuts
Don’t rely on clichés (like sombreros for Mexicans or chopsticks for Asians) unless they are contextually accurate and respectful.
Review and Reflect
Always review generated images critically. Ask: Does this image reinforce a stereotype? If yes, revise your prompt and try again.
